Moss Park 1s secured back to back wins, picking up another 3 points by beating a strong Oldham side 3-2 at the weekend.
Although Oldham opened the scoring, Moss equalised, with Sandra Harwood striking on the halftime whistle, with a perfectly executed penalty corner routine.
The 2nd half saw Moss dominate possession & wave after wave of attacks soon reaped reward with goals from Chaaya Agravat & an especially well taken shot from the top of the circle by Ellie Freer. Oldham scored a penalty flick as consolation despite Jos Rostron’s & Cath Holland’s sterling attempts to thwart their attacks.
Congratulations to Kate Stewart who was deservedly named Umpires’ player of the match & players’ player. Well done to Ellie Freer who was awarded opposition player of the match. DOD was nearly a clean sweep: Jos Rostron lying full stretch on the goal line in a desperate effort to deflect a goal bound shot was brave, but her teammates interpreted her actions as lazy! Fancy taking a nap on the pitch!
A great performance & another great win! Come on the Moss!
