Humour warning! Coach Riley wants more puns so here we go!
I once heard Coach Dave say to “Saasha” “Don’t go bacon my heart”, Saasha replied “I couldn’t if I fried”.
Today MP3s didn’t go breakin’ our coaches heart but they broke a few City hearts.
I am a great fan of whiteboards-I find them re-markable & if I had one right now I would scrawl in large letters that MP3s really took it home today (one for the teachers).
A 2-1 win, despite Coach Riley’s convictions we’d secured a 2-2 draw, against top of the table City of Manchester. It was a great team effort.
The goals a first half, well worked move finished off by top scorer Grace Brown & a second half goal from Eilidh Waddell. Eilidh was umpire’s POD & our POD. Well deserved accolades for a smashing performance-we just need to learn how to spell your name! Several others got POD nominations reflecting excellent play by the whole team. Lisa Spencer “Doc” took home opposition POD. COM were no roll over today-they never are-they battled till the end in a high quality, good spirited match. Their goal is worthy of a mention, a lifted shot to the top corner, essentially unsavable. Every player gave their best today. Lesley Freer, calm linking brilliantly with everyone, Charlotte Orell played a fantastic debut, linking with captain Rachael Melvin. Charlotte Doughty made many excellent saves supported by a sterling back line of Emily Blacknell & Darsha Hardy, so so strong. Michelle Lanaway, Julia Brown & Holly Earmuffs went all out to impress.
Support came from Jean (Julia’s mum, Grace’s grandma), Colin & Clodagh (Lisa C’s family), Ellie F & Jos.
We had delicious post-match cakes in our PAVILION (that’s what it’s called captain) courtesy of Mich, Emily & Jean.
Finally to BOD, well you’ve probably seen the video it was Lisa Connor, again, for ‘bra-gate’ and knee to pitch skills, she also played an excellent 2nd game. Although Rach & Mich came close to taking BOD after accidentally taking out the opposition goal keeper, leaving Rachael’s knees bloodied & grazed. Seriously great game ladies-lets keep it here.
Come on the Moss!
